With a keen business sense, Shonel works predominantly with self-employed, high-income and high net worth individuals and families. This ensures that whilst they are busy running their successful business or career, Shonel provides the invaluable financial advice and expertise to ensure their hard work rewards them in the long term.
In addition to this, Shonel works with women who are looking for a trusted confidante to support them in their wealth creation and retirement planning years. Either through divorce or death, many women suddenly find themselves faced with planning their future alone quite late in life, so with our guidance it can be a far less daunting prospect.
Shonel also presents to local businesses for various financial planning workshops and seminars.
Words from Shonel:
Success is not a matter of luck. It is usually the result of hard work paying off over a long period of time.
I was drawn to financial planning in my early 20’s, eager to do better for myself financially. At a time of great change in the financial services industry, I feel I landed at the perfect time – no longer the realm of salesmen (few women), sales targets and secret commissions, financial planning is now on the road to becoming a recognised profession with improved education standards and greater transparency. At Essential Financial Advice we have always worked hard to remain at the forefront of the financial advice industry, always seeking improvement for the benefit of our clients.
Outside of the office I am involved in the financial running of our other family business JSV Mechanical in Busselton, headed up by my husband Jason. I love being a business owner and it provides enormous insight to what my self-employed clients are going through and the challenges they face.
Jason and I have three children who keep us on our toes at all times. I am also involved with the Boyanup Hockey Club where I coach juniors and play at a competitive level.
